Product Details
Ethiopian Harrar coffee beans are grown on small farms in the eastern part of Ethiopia. They are dry-processed and are labeled as longberry which is large, shortberry which is smaller, or Mocha, also called peaberry. Ethiopian Harrar coffee can have a strong dry edge, winy to fruit like acidity, rich aroma, and a heavy body.
Arabica coffee is indigenous to this eastern Africa country and still grows wild in many areas. The range of altitude is from 4,200 to 6,800 feet.
The coffee grows on small farms (85 percent cover less than five acres), often inter-planted with banana trees for shade. Usually harvesting runs from October through December. Ethiopia's entire crop is Arabica, which is primarily processed by the dry method and graded by the number of defects. All bulk wholesale coffee is sold in 5 lb. bags.
